Why the Rose of Jacob

Jewish education has always flourished because of the merit of Jewish women. Without their strength, dedication, love, and nurture the Jewish people could not be sustained.  Typically they choose to be in the background and refuse to take credit for their achievements.

The challenge is that young Jewish girls and future generations of Jewish women need to see, learn, and become inspired by the past achievements of their ancestors.

With the creation of the Aish HaTorah World Center located across from the Western Wall in the Old City in Jerusalem, it was decided to create a commemoration dedicated exclusively to honoring the strength of Jewish women.  Making a prominent display that will be viewed by over 300,000 visitors annually.

The Rose of Jacob ‘Shoshanat Yaakov’ is a reference in Jewish liturgy to the unity of the Jewish People. The Shoshana is a flower of 13 parts. 13 is the numerical value of the word echad ‘one’ alluding to the power of the Jewish People when united as one.

Our hope is that through these dedications we will continue to educate and inspire the masses of the Jewish Nation.
