Aish HaTorah is an apolitical network of Jewish educational centers in 30 branches on five continents. Our world center is located in Jerusalem, directly across from the Western Wall. Aish HaTorah was founded in 1974 by Rabbi Noah Weinberg, who moved from New York to Israel with the goal of created educational programs that would turn world Jewry away from assimilation and back to Jewish pride. Aish's educational philosophy is that Judaism is not all or nothing; it is a journey where every step counts, to be pursued according to one's own pace and interest. Mitzvot (commandments) are not rituals, but opportunities for personal growth, to be studied and understood. We learn the Torah's wisdom to enrich our own lives, and to share these ideas with all humanity. Our website, Aish.com, is the most popular Jewish content site, with 2 million visits each month, and 260,000 unique email subscribers. As a non-profit organization, Aish HaTorah relies solely on private support to continue providing both information and inspiration to Jews worldwide.
